Delportshoop – On the Banks of the Awesome Vaal River! Ep 346

Описание: Our trip to Delportshoop was a bittersweet experience. As we entered the town, a neglected sports facility caught our attention, its unused state revealing years of abandonment. Driving through the streets, it became evident that Delportshoop, like many other South African towns, was facing challenging times. However, amidst the hardship, the local church stood out, well-maintained and seemingly untouched by the town's struggles. This town is located on the banks of the awesome Vaal River. We obtained directions from a friendly local resident who explained to us how to get to the river. Despite rather intricate directions, we were determined to find it and so we embarked on a difficult search, but the moment we finally reached the river, our efforts felt justified. The sight of the river was a great reward. Certain parts of the town surprised us with their beauty, showcasing meticulously-tended gardens and well-preserved homes.
