According to multiple news outlets, on December 9, 2025, Sindh Police launched a large-scale operation in Shikarpur, targeting a group of suspected bandits / criminals near the Manchhar Shah area.
The result was: nine bandits killed, and several police officers wounded — including two DSPs (Deputy Superintendents of Police).
Police say the slain individuals were involved in serious crimes: kidnapping for ransom, drug-dealing, robberies, and other criminal activities.
