Описание: ISRO(Indian Space Research Organization) recently launched the EOS-01(Earth Observation Satellite) previously named as RISAT onboard their most reliable rocket PSLV(Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) in its PSLV-DL Configuration, along with 9 customer satellites.

This PSLV-DL Launch marked the 1st ever launch for India as well as the Indian Space Agency.

India’s PSLV-C49 carrying EOS-01 is scheduled to lift-off at 3:02 p.m. IST on Saturday November 07, 2020 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota

The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) has proved itself to be a versatile vehicle for diverse missions and is now the workhorse of ISRO. It was the first launcher to gain operational status.

PSLV is meeting the national requirements as well as the launch requirements for international customers. The long string of consecutive successes and multi-satellite launch capability has reinforced the status of PSLV as a reliable, versatile and affordable launcher in the global market. Over the years, continual technological improvements have enhanced the payload capability to 1700 kg into 600 km Sun Synchronous Polar Orbit (SSPO) and 1425 kg into Sub Geo-Synchronous Transfer Orbit of 284 km x 20650 km. The fact that PSLV was used to place Chandrayaan-1 in India’s first lunar mission and Mangalyaan in India’s first Mars orbiter Mission, is a testimony to its reliability and versatility.

EOS-01 (formerly known as RISAT-2BR2) is an X-band, synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) based all weather Earth imaging satellite built by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for tasks pertaining to forestry, agricultural and disaster management. It is a part of India's RISAT series of SAR imaging spacecraft and would be third satellite in the series including RISAT-2B, RISAT-2BR1 with 120° phasing. EOS-01 has been developed at the cost of roughly ₹125 crore (US$18 million)

EOS-1 (RISAT-2BR2) has been launched onboard a PSLV-DL C49 rocket on 7 November 2020 along with 9 foreign satellites. The satellite was although earlier scheduled for first half of 2020, impact of COVID-19 pandemic in India affected ISRO's activities and delayed a number of programs by months and it was first launch mission of ISRO in 2020. Due to fears of infections amid pandemic, gathering of staff and media were dismissed for this launch.

As per reports in late October, RISAT-2BR2 was renamed as "EOS-01" per new naming criteria adopted by ISRO
