Locals call it Chowrasta Pork Intestine Porridge, famous for their Chee Cheong Chok — a thick, silky congee cooked for two hours with all the piggy treasures inside… and crowned with crispy deep-fried intestines! 🥣🔥
I showed up around 7:30 a.m., which was perfect timing — no long line yet, because this place sells out fast!
I wasn’t sure what to expect — porridge with intestines isn’t something you see every day. But the first spoonful completely changed my mind. The broth carried a subtle depth from hours of slow cooking, and the fried intestines added a gentle crunch and umami that gave the dish real character.
