Swedish Police Arrest Man Who Set Fire to His Apartment (Bodycam Footage)

The 30-year-old man who set fire to his apartment in Hallstahammar in February 2023 and then jumped out of the window is now being sentenced for arson, among other things.
No neighbors were injured during the fire, which the Västmanland District Court considered to be a danger to the life and health of others.
However, the man needed to go to the hospital after climbing out of a window on the third floor and hanging from a drainpipe until he fell to the ground and could be arrested.
Initially, the police were called to the scene when neighbors called and complained about a disturbance. When the patrol arrived, the 30-year-old was carrying a knife. Negotiators were called to the scene, whereupon the man set fire to the apartment and then escaped out of the window.
Now, despite his denials, the 30-year-old is being sentenced to two years in prison for arson and violent resistance.
