Donut recipe with Tangzhong!
Dough 325g bread flour
50 g sugar
35 g powdered milk
1/2 ts salt
Nutmeg
1 ts yeast
1 egg(I showed 2 eggs, but ended with one)
100 g water
45 g butter
Tangzhong
Tangzhong:
75 g water
15 g bread flour
Directions: First mix your dry ingredients, then add the wet, including the Tangzhong and Kneed for about 10-15 minutes. You will get a very soft dough that is not smooth….trust the process. Don’t add anymore flour. Cover and let it double in size. It took about 2 hours to double in size(cold weather).
Roll out your dough as shown in the video, cover and let it double in size again.
I placed my dough in a parchment paper, but forgot to drop them into the oil with the same paper(once you pick up the dough with your fingers, the dough will deflate, as seen in the video 😬🫣….but the “dead bones” rose again 🤪).
Anyways, heat up your oil and when it’s hot, drop in the dough and the reduce the heat so it can cook all the way. Flip to the other side to brown.
If you eat it while hot, you’ll go to heaven and back🤣🤣. You can also wait for it to cool down 😀.
