After arriving a chilled coffee stop and drone flight up on Boguille Hill where I also spotted opportunities for overnighting, I drive down into Lochranza to visit the old castle ruin and have a wander.

My belly was starting to rumble after that and while at the castle I had got chatting to somebody who told me they'd been told by a local that there was an excellent sandwhich shop shop beside the ferry port. So that's where headed for some lunch which I ate under a watchful bird gaze while watching the comings and goings at the small ferry terminal.

After lunch, I headed off to find a park up for the evening. I'm still quite new to wild camping but needn't have worried, Arran has no shortage of opportunities to park up for the night and seem very welcoming of vans so you feel perfectly safe too.

I found my spot just off the main road and by the shore front (W3W location given in the video) and spent the remainder of the afternoon on the beach there, building a rock tower, and just generally relaxing in nature (my favourite thing!).

After a quiet night, I headed off to a nearby cafe I'd found on Google in my search for breakfast. Here I was joined by a friendly Chaffinch, before I sent the drone up to have a look at a Druid standing stone some distance away in a field. I know nothing more about it other than its a Druid stone, but it was nice flying across the meadow grass to have a nosy.

In next week's episode, I encounter bagpipers playing in Dougarie, visit the Machrie Moor Stone Circles, and find my second stunning off grid park up of the trip.
