Описание: The Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount are some of the better known sayings of Jesus. Unfortunately, they are also some of the most trivialized. Jesus speaks to people who do not seem to be blessed, who are suffering or facing great difficulty, saying that contrary to all appearances, they are blessed and favored by God. These are not commands to live by or formula for achieving happiness, despite what a sappy book by Robert Schuller says. They are counter-intuitive statements to those who follow Jesus along the difficult path his disciples must walk, assuring them that God's favor and blessing goes with them, even in the midst of mourning, longing for a better world, and the world's opposition and hatred.
