In modern times it seems that the term feminist is used as an insult even when she doesn't identify as a feminist. If a woman has an opinion that doesn't fit a more traditional approach she's a feminist, if she doesn't want children she's a feminist, if she wants to work, vote, not have a significant other she's a feminist.
