Hiking in the World’s Largest Quiver Tree Forest | Gannabos, South Africa

Описание: During the flower season in August 2023, we embarked on a 10-day road trip along the breathtaking West Coast of South Africa. For a few days, we stayed at Gannabos, a stunning farm at the gateway to the Northern Cape. This farm is home to the world's largest naturally grown quiver tree forest—a truly spectacular sight.

One of the highlights of our stay was hiking up a mountain surrounded by these magnificent trees. The weather was perfect for the hike. Delfina chose to pause halfway up the trail, while I continued to the top. Standing at the top, I was in awe of the vast, rugged beauty stretching before me. It’s surprisingly easy to lose your sense of direction up there!

As I had reached the plateau, my GoPro battery died, so I switched to filming with my phone. While conditions were calm at the base and mid-hike, the top was a different story—extremely windy. Without my proper mic, the audio was heavily affected by the wind. Some sections of this video were particularly challenging to restore due to the distortion, but with the right background music, it remains a captivating experience to watch.
