Early Taliban control of Afghanistan will be 'chaotic and potentially bloody'

The Taliban has set up makeshift security checkpoints, halting traffic and checking cars on the streets of Kabul, with the sudden change in leadership casting a cloud over the future of the country.
The Taliban is currently attempting to cultivate a “benevolent image” but it is doubtful there will be any inclusive changes, according to Asia correspondent Adrian Brown.
“The Taliban at the moment is trying to project this sort of benevolent image but of course we know from the past, the Taliban lie, the Taliban deceive,” he told Sky News Australia.
“Have they changed, I don’t think so, I think the Taliban have only ever had the one goal and that was to regain control of the country.”
Mr Brown said when the Afghanistan War had just begun it was “hard to imagine then the Taliban could make any sort of comeback” but they regrouped and regained power with new vigour.
“The early months of Taliban rule are going to be chaotic and potentially very, very bloody,” he said.
