Описание: Several thousand demonstrators gathered in Paris on Monday (May 27) evening to protest against Israel's military offensive in Gaza.

Police used tear gas to disperse protesters.

The protesters gathered by the Saint Augustin area in the French capital's 8th district, not far from the Israeli Embassy, then marched towards the Opera square, and then in the direction of the Montmarte neighbourhood, where protests were still ongoing as of 11 p.m. (2100GMT).

Earlier on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron said he was "outraged" over an Israeli airstrike that triggered a fire killing 45 people in a tent camp in the Gazan city of Rafah and prompting an outcry from global leaders.
