We're not just doing film anymore! We'll be on the hunt for obscure or forgotten video materials from Japan as well, so be on the lookout for those.

This is a capture of a 1997 promotional/marketing videotape for the cancelled OVA based on the 1995 Sega Saturn action/adventure and simulation game "QUOVADIS". The OVA was planned to be released in 1997 across multiple tapes, but it was cancelled due to its production company, Glams, going bankrupt. This tape goes into detail about the success of the video game, the staff and crew behind the OVA, the planned production and release schedule of the OVA, and most importantly, some work-in-progress animation and character designs that have never seen the light of day, until now. Before, the only proof this OVA actually was to exist was a flyer and a few character sheets, but now we have actual footage and in-progress work showcasing its planned, yet failed production, making this extremely rare and worth preserving.

This was a promotional videotape and was not sold to the public, making it a bit of a rare curiosity. We acquired the tape and captured it with the help of our friend nappasan on Twitter. Aside from upscaling to 4K to avoid YouTube compression, nothing was altered from the original capture. There are currently no subtitles.
