Описание: Like most fellow Jicarilla Cultural Arts & Heritage Center artists, Keshia Julian comes from many generations of skilled artisans. Keshia shares she was once was disinterested in the practices and traditions of her people until motherhood caused her to reevaluate her contributions to the world her four daughters would come to live in. Returning to her culture after the birth of her oldest daughter, Keshia now soaks up every opportunity to learn from elders. She writes everything down to pass on to her children and has learned to pass on the values of listening to the land, respecting nature, and being proud of who her family is. Through art, prayer, and storytelling, Keshia inspires her daughters, peers, and community to embrace culture with color and wholeness.
