Battle Cats - Invasion of the Swamplord

I'd make the same joke I make about big and small versions of an enemy being on the same stage, but the Mishimas try to kill each other all the time.

Introducing Kappy Kawano, the newest Brutal Advent:
Kappy Kawano is a massive version of Kappy Jr who takes a lot of visual inspiration from Heihachi Mishima from the Tekken series. Kappy Kawano has 2,600,000 HP, 4 KBs, 380 range, 12 speed, and has a rapid 3-hit Multihit dealing 38,000 damage each hit. Kappy Kawano is also Weaken Immune, has a 100% chance to create a Lv. 1 Surge with each hit between 150-1000 range, and possesses Countersurge. Notably, Kawano attacks much slower than his son, making him impossible to permanently stall with Rock. In fact, his Multihit is designed to punish the use of this exact unit. You can still bring Surge units, just make sure your lineup has lots of Surge Immunes to negate Countersurge.

Ghost King I (Deadly): 0:00
This stage is moreso an introduction to the boss himself. Bring lots of Surge Immune attackers and tanky units like Can Can who can take hits and dish them back. Talented LKD is pretty much mandatory here as the only consistent spammable option who outranges Kawano and is Surge Immune. Very easy stage though.

Ghost King II (Merciless): 3:04
Things get difficult right away. The stage starts off with a very quick Othom, followed by a Bun Bun Black. After about a minute, Kappy Kawano spawns, followed by another Othom, another Bun Bun Black, and yet another Othom. You can rush this stage with Idi, though you need either talented Box or Yukimura to deal with Bun Bun Black quick enough. Otherwise, you'll need a strong Othom counter such as Luza who is also Surge Immune. Metafilibuster also works very well here by periodically Freezing Kawano and Othom. Try to rush the first Othom and Bun Bun so you can quickly kill Kawano before things get out of hand.

Ghost King III (Merciless): 5:25
Red EnerG seems dangerous here, but he's actually the easiest enemy on the stage since your lineup is mostly unaffected. Your main threat comes from the infinitely spawning Gory Blacks, Hyppohs, and Imperator Saels. Raynard also sits in the back as a minor annoyance. Just try and keep your wallet in check as you chip down Kawano.

Ghost King Finale (Brutal): 10:37
Father and Son fight together in this last battle. The stage is a base hit stage, but bringing Rich is recommended anyways to get a stack going without having to wait. Try to get as much damage on Kawano as you can before Jr comes in. Golemfish puts you on a timer if it gets close to your base, so try and keep as much ground as you can. Cop is great for dealing lots of damage to Jr. Once Jr is down, taking out Kawano should be easy. Try to finish fast as there is a bit of Sir Rel spam at the 9 minute mark.

Reward: Maize Cat

Maize Cat is a Rare meatshield that is very similar to Jetpack. Maize Cat Resists Aku/Relic enemies with Colossus Slayer and is immune to Freeze and Curse. Maize and its evolved form, Cone Cat, have the same stats so use whichever you prefer. It has 170 range, 20 speed, costs 375, and has a 3.87 sec cooldown.

Maize instantly outclasses every single other anti-Relic and Aku meatshield that exists. With a little more effective HP than Future and almost double Cactus' HP, Maize completely shuts down both traits. Although Maize isn't Surge Immune like Cactus, it rarely ever covers for the massive HP difference. Both traits have an abundance of Freeze enemies too which Maize can bypass, including Omens, who Maize absolutely decimates. At level 50, Maize even survives Zero Luza while Strengthened. This unit is broken to the same degree as Ramen vs Angel. You should not spend Rare Catseyes on anything else until this is maxed. This is your ticket to freedom in Starred UL.
