China delivers first light sport aircraft with FULLY domestic avionics and engine

Описание: China on January 16 delivered its first light sport aircraft (LSA) equipped with fully domestically developed avionics and engine, marking a major breakthrough in the localization of key aviation systems.

The aircraft, Aurora SA60L, was developed by Starair Aircraft Co., Ltd., based in Zhuzhou City, central China’s Hunan Province. After obtaining civil aviation airworthiness certification, the aircraft was officially handed over to customers, filling a long-standing gap in China’s independently controllable LSA supply chain.

The delivered aircraft, registered as B-134F, is powered by the CA500 engine independently developed by Zongshen, installed in the rear-mounted engine compartment. During a 25-hour factory test flight covering 31 evaluation items, the engine demonstrated solid performance in thrust-to-weight ratio, fuel efficiency, vibration control and overall craftsmanship.

The Aurora SA60L also marks the first time a domestically developed avionics system has fully replaced imported products on a Chinese light sport aircraft. It is equipped with an intelligent avionics and data management platform developed in China.

The smart avionics instrument system, independently developed by Tianjian Intelligent Control, integrates pre-flight preparation, in-flight monitoring and post-flight analysis functions. Meanwhile, the “Nebula” intelligent platform developed by Shanhe Starair enables real-time data collection and remote monitoring of aircraft position, status and attitude, providing data support for remote management, proactive services and operational optimization.

Industry experts say the delivery represents a significant step forward in enhancing China’s self-reliance and competitiveness in the light aviation sector.
