Working together to improve supportive care for patients

Dr Oakley believes it is really important that nurses have access to good and ongoing education. She mentions a range of attendees to the conference who have been really inspired by the information presented and who have applied that to improve their own practice. One of the issues is the health service being under a lot of pressure. Therefore, a lot of thought has been put into how to support each patient in an individual way. Dr Oakley highlights a presentation which focused on some projects that UKONS are planning to participate in. One of these projects would be looking at an evidence-base around the benefits of clinical nurse specialists, incorporating some case studies.
