Balochistan Under Attack: Pakistan Says 67 Militants Killed in Coordinated Balochistan Attacks

Описание: At least 67 militants were killed in coordinated attacks across Pakistan’s Balochistan province on January 31, security officials said. The attacks, claimed by the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), targeted multiple cities including Quetta and Gwadar.

The violence also left 10 police and security personnel and 11 civilians dead, while 24 officers were injured. Armed men briefly blocked roads, blasts were reported near high-security areas, and hospitals were placed on emergency footing.

Pakistan’s authorities said the attacks were repelled by the army, police, and counterterrorism units, with clearance operations still underway. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces and accused India of backing the separatists, a claim New Delhi has denied.

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest and poorest province, has faced a decades-long separatist insurgency, with repeated attacks on state forces, infrastructure, and civilians. Despite the ongoing violence, authorities say they remain committed to eliminating armed threats in the province.
