Boas are semi-arboreal, they enjoy climbing and it's great for their muscles; as they grow, gaining weight and girth, they prefer flat stable shelves rather than perching on a branch. Adults still enjoy climbing, branches or perches should be included in cage design, but I highly recommend large flat shelves for elevated basking and resting opportunities.
