Innovate UK: 10 years shaping the future

Innovate UK support has:

Returned up to £16 billion to the economy
Helped 8,000 organisations
Generated £7.30 gross value added (GVA) for every £1 invested
Created nearly 70,000 jobs
Resulted in 8 jobs being created for every business invested in

Innovate UK chief executive Ruth McKernan said: "It’s a great pleasure to be able to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Innovate UK and reflect on the achievements of the businesses that we have supported, specifically the contribution they have made, and will make, to the UK economy.

"I am still constantly surprised by the breadth and depth of the innovative projects we support – and how inspiring those businesses can be – against all odds. Some of their stories are featured in this publication; from the highly successful university friends who created Swiftkey and became multimillionaires, to those like 3D mapping innovator Natwilai Utoomprurkporn, who’s just starting out."
