CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION AGENDA REGULAR MEETING
WEDNESDAY, March 4, 2026 6:00 P.M.
AUDITORIUM BASEMENT, 36 S. Main St., Eureka Springs, Arkansas
ROLL CALL – ESTABLISH QUORUM
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
OLD BUSINESS: 1. Level II: 10 Eugenia – Jacob Brown, applicant – remove wooden deck and pour stamped concrete patio
NEW BUSINESS: 1. Level III: 14 Breeding – Ryan Strode, applicant – rear residential addition
2. Level II: 10 Eugenia – Steven Mongeau, owner – remove remaining wooden decks and pour stamped concrete patio, cover siding on chapel with river rock mosaic, install awnings
CONSENT AGENDA: Level I & II projects that the City Preservation Officer believes to be in accordance with the Design Guidelines. Any commissioner or member of the public may move any Consent Agenda item to the Regular Agenda for discussion.
ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVALS by City Historic Preservation Officer: Minor impact projects include ordinary maintenance that does not involve a change in materials. New and replacement signs. Alterations to non-contributing and/or nonhistoric structures (excluding major additions or demolition). Medium impact projects that meet Design Guidelines.
1. Level I – 101 E Van Buren – Carter, applicant – roof repair
2. Level I – 28 S Main – Bordeaux, applicant – repair rotten window frame & sills around front windows at Mud St. Annex
3. Level I – 55 S Main – Paulk, applicant – repair & repaint metal staircase, same color
4. Level I – 42 Kingshighway – Rivera, owner – re-roof, same material
5. Level I – 300 Spring – Martin, applicant – restack old stone retaining wall using existing stones
6. Level I – 8 ½ Spring – Moyer, applicant – repaint exterior (excluding unpainted masonry)
7. Level II – 137 W Van Buren – Eureka Springs Transit, owner – installation of above ground gasoline tank
8. Level I – 49 Mountain – Pemberton, applicant – re-roof (same material), add gutters, paint, repair/replace retaining wall
9. Level I – 11 Emporia – Cato, owner – repair/replace awning over porch, same material
COMMISSION BUSINESS:
1. Approval of minutes from January 7, January 21, & February 18 regular meeting
2. Discussion of CAMP and other Trainings
3. Next Meeting: March 18, 2026. Level III applications due Thursday, March 5; Level II applications due Wednesday, March 11
