Описание: In this video I will talk about replacing the alternator on the LS400, and everything you might need or want to know about for this job.
There are two major things about these cars and their alternators that you ought to know.
For one, there is a power steering pump located above the alternator. It has a valve at the bottom that tends to leak, and it is very common that the power steering system leaks onto the alternator. In my opinion, its best to address the leak, and replace the alternator, that is proper. However, there are many people who will create a custom shield for the alternator to prevent it from becoming soaked. This is a "bandaid" fix in my opinion
second of all, many people use this opportunity to upgrade to the Lexus LS430 alternator, which provides a bit more power. Some people swear by this, but its a bit more work to get done and some people may just want to swap the alternator and be done with it
