With the general election taking place on Thursday - you may have heard people talking about parties.

But it's not the sort of party that you may be used to!

When people talk about elections and parties, they are usually talking about political parties. A political party is a group of politicians with similar views, who work together to get their ideas through.

Ricky’s been looking into some of the parties standing in this election and what they have to say about children and young people.
