The Eurasian hoopoe is native to Africa, Asia and Europe.
In Malayalam it is called uppooppan and huppu.
The Eurasian hoopoe is the national bird of Israel.
At least nine subspecies are found throughout the world.
There is no difference between the male and female.
The bird generally prefers open areas.
These birds are mostly found in areas with small bushes and grasslands.
Ethiopian Jews call this bird the Bird of Moses.
