I repotted this Cattleya-type orchid about a year-and-a-half ago. It has grown well, including the root system. The pseudobulb developed over the winter under the grow lights, and the bloom sheath appeared about a month ago in late May. Unfortunately, first time blooms can be a mystery when they aren't exactly 'perfect' in structure. Watch as we discuss the positives and negatives of this bloom and what might have gone wrong.
