Ilbert Manor : Stepping into a Victorian Dream
Our first stay was an incredible surprise. We book the most luxurious room at Ilbert Manor, a stunning British-era mansion built in 1840. Walking into our Victorian Suite felt like entering a movie set. The room was a beautiful blend of history and comfort, with genuine vintage furniture, an authentic fireplace, and artifacts that transported us back in time. If you're searching for a premium, luxury heritage hotel in Mussoorie with a real sense of history, Ilbert Manor, just 500m from the Mall Road, is an unforgettable choice.

Srivasa Retreat : A Serene New Year's Celebration
This place offers only wooden cabins, and the way they've acquired one side of the hill ensures complete privacy. It was the perfect spot to celebrate our New Year's Eve in a quiet and cozy atmosphere. The room was a comfortable haven with a powerful heater to combat the chilly night, a clean, aesthetic bathroom, and a standout feature: a stunning window-seating area with a panoramic view of Dehradun.

The Kiana's : The Jacuzzi Balcony & Landour Charm
Our third stop was Kiana Resort, a unique homestay near Landour that is more like a conceptual home. The rooms here are beautifully aligned with views of the Dehradun valley, but its true USP is the private Jacuzzi attached to the balcony of our wooden cabin room.

Landour Cafe Hopping: 🍽Our trip to Landour was a culinary adventure. We took our scooty and visited some of the most famous and unique cafes. We'll take you inside the vibrant Domas Cafe, where the interior is a feast for the eyes and the Tibetan food, especially the Mukthuk, is a must-try. We also braved the crowd at the famous Landour Bakehouse and explored other popular spots like The Mud Cup Cafe.

Jharipani Resort : A Budget Stay with Big Adventures
For the last leg of our journey, we opted for a more budget-friendly stay at Jharipani Resort, where rooms start around ₹5,000. Despite the lower price, the property was a delightful surprise. It's old, vibrant with color, and beautifully maintained. Since we didn't have a room with a view, we spent most of our time exploring the common areas, where we were treated to a mesmerizing sunset. The sky would transform into a vivid canvas of red and purple, a sight we won't forget. The resort also houses the 19th Century Cafe, a resto-bar with a glass floor and incredible views. This stay proved that you don't need a huge budget to have an amazing time.

Adventures That Defined Our Trip
The Jharipani Waterfall Trek: We discovered that the resort was just a short trek away from the Jharipani waterfall, a true hidden gem. We were warned that the 1.5 km trek was steep and the path was broken due to a landslide, but we were determined to go. The hike was challenging, with precarious footing, but reaching the secluded, uncrowded waterfall was the most rewarding feeling. This is a must-do for anyone looking for a thrilling and offbeat trek in Mussoorie.
