US Stock Futures Rally As Hopes Rise Of A Santa Claus Rally, Asia Surges; Higher Start On D-Street?

Описание: The futures tied to the U.S. benchmarks traded on a higher note ahead of a holiday-shortened week. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose by 83 points, or 0.2%. S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 0.2% and 0.3%, respectively. Last week, the S&P 500 closed 0.1% higher, and the Nasdaq Composite finished up 0.5%. The Dow Jones fell 0.7%

Stocks gained ground on Wall Street on Friday, wiping away losses from earlier in the week.

Technology stocks were once again the main force behind the market’s broader moves, especially companies with a focus on artificial intelligence. Both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq closed out the week with gains, despite several stumbles early this week.

The S&P 500 rose 59.74 points, or 0.9%, to 6,834.50. It notched a 0.1% gain for the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 183.04 points, or 0.4%, to 48,134.89.

The Asian markets opened higher across the board today following China’s decision to keep the loan prime rates steady. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 1.58%, while the Topix was 0.86% higher. The Bank of Japan raised its policy rate by 25 basis points to 0.75% on Friday, a three-decade high. South Korea’s Kospi jumped 1.83% and the small-cap Kosdaq rose 0.99%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index futures were at 25,843, higher than the HSI’s last close of 25,690.53.

Meanwhile, the GIFT Nifty is trading 150 points, or 0.57%, higher at 26,180.
