The Data Doesn't Lie:
The top 15 safest countries—UAE (#1), Singapore (#11), Japan (#12), China (#13), and Saudi Arabia (#15)—are almost exclusively in Asia and the Middle East. Meanwhile, the UK, Germany, Italy, and Sweden sit in the 80s. The UK ranks 89th out of 162, behind Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

For those who want Southeast Asia's energy with strong safety — Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia are all relatively low-risk for expats; you need basic street smarts, not constant vigilance.
The genuine risk areas to approach carefully: Myanmar (active conflict), Cambodia (corruption and scam infrastructure).
