A Liberia-flagged oil tanker carrying 23 Indian nationals came under attack by unmanned drone boats off Russia’s Black Sea coast near Sochi. The crew was rescued and evacuated to shore, according to Russia’s Transport Ministry. Visuals showed flames and thick black smoke rising from the sea near the popular resort city. The incident comes a day after another commercial vessel caught fire and sank off Romania, with casualties reported and one Indian crew member injured. The latest attack highlights the growing risks to commercial shipping in the Black Sea as Russia and Ukraine continue to target maritime and energy infrastructure amid the ongoing war.
