Colombian Wilderness 🇨🇴 Hiking in Antioquia

Описание: San Rafael, in Antioquia Colombia a 3 hours drive from Medellin;
this place is completely surrounded by nature and I felt the serenity and peace that it comes with it so much so that i forgot to constantly check my phone or look at the time. The weather is reminiscent of a rainy forest—refreshingly cool, with gentle showers that add to the charm of the hike without ever being overbearing.

Our adventure was organized from top to bottom by the amazing @elefunspanish , a spanish school located in Medellin (yes I took spanish classes while i visited lol) and after long hike we arrived to two stunning waterfalls: Balneario La Cazuela, a tranquil spot where the cascading waters invite you to pause and soak in the serenity, and Balneario La Isleta, a hidden gem surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature; it felt remote and secluded but yet never more that 30 min walk from the closest home or village. Along the trail, we were enchanted by the vibrant wildlife of the surroundings, including fluttering Blue Morpho and Postman Butterflies, their brilliant colors adding magic to the landscape. We also encountered the elegant Toche Pico de Plata, a bird native to the region with striking bright red and black colors, whose presence made the experience even more memorable! (I wish I was camera ready!)

But the most unexpected and heartwarming part of the hike was meeting Tito (name that I chose for him in my mind lol), a stray dog we found at the very start of the trail. I walked up to him, gave him some water, and a few friendly pats—and from that moment, he became the mascot of our journey. Tito was the best dog super friendly and loyally accompanied us through the entire hike and we couldn't have asked for a companion! Of course, we treated him to some well-deserved food for being such an amazing hiking buddy so if you decide to come here and end up meeting Tito please give him a paw 🐾 for me 🐶
