Mechelen (2025) is one of the largest cities in the Dutch Speaking area of Flanders in Belgium. The city has approximately 90,000 citizens and has a rich history in architecture and culture. Mechelen is rich of Catholic Churches, chapels, cathedrals and basilica's. The highest one is the St. Rumbolds Cathedral at the Grote Markt square in the centre of the city. Other highlights of Mechelen are the Brusselpoort (City Gate), 't Groen Waterke, Brewery the Anker (Golden Carolus Beer) and the Renaissance facade of the City Hall.
