Cinque Terre & Lucca Day Trips | Italian Apartment Tour

Описание: We last visited Cinque Terre 15+ years ago and I remember walking down the streets with a big smile and just absorbing it all in. Since then, I’ve always wanted to return. And we finally did! It was like walking in a painting with buildings every color of the sunset ✨

We drove to Cinque Terre for the day, but after arriving we had to stay overnight and an hour later we checked into this apartment right in Vernazza’s main square. It felt lucky to find such a great apartment & nice view with only an hours notice. The last video is a short room tour.

We love our seafood! And it was great to be in a fishing town especially one known for anchovies… our fave! This restaurant was high up almost as if etched out of a rock cliff looking out to the Mediterranean. We had the Anchovy & Alici appetizer, Nero di Seppia pasta, a tomato based seafood pasta and the black snapper. Loved how the fish was delicate and lightly seasoned. It was delicious and really hit the spot after eating so much meat in Tuscany! But for the kids, we asked for butter Parmesan pasta. And they gave us the noodles with butter & Parmesan packets. It made us laugh and the kids liked it.

Just a short train ride to Monterosso al Mare, a romantic sea village with a pirate like church decorated with cross bones & skeletons. We’re eating all the seafood while we can, then playground time and walked along the water watching the sun go down.

Lucca ♥ On our way back from Cinque Terre we made a pizza stop at Lucca. Again… we made a spur of the moment decision to stay overnight & was lucky to check into an amazing historical apartment that is actually connected to the Duomo Di San Martino that is behind me. Swipe left for photos & I may upload a video tour later. We spent the day shopping… mostly for clothes & toiletries since we didn’t bring anything with us the entire trip. And eating… another post coming soon 😋. We even seen a Palio parade showing historical costumes of dames, lords, armed people with ancient weapons, flag throwing and drummer men. Didn’t take photos of the parade but the kids loved it. And lots time around the carousel 🎠 Lots of great memories in Lucca. Sometimes those unplanned trips & locations turn out to be one of the favorites ♡

Lucca food for the day. The best 🍕 we’ve had in Italy…ever. The Margherita was amazing, but ours had a spicy salami on top that just melts in your mouth. See how little Amalin was when we ate here 5 years ago ☺️. And it tasted better than we remembered. We walked around trying different pastries & gelato. Then dinner time, we didn’t know until we sat at our table that it was a 2021 ⭐️ 1 star Michelin restaurant. We both did the 8 course tasting menu w/ wine and it was divine. The waiter told us we are the only ones who ever brought 3 young children… i think we & the kids are used to it by now. Then on our drive home, we wanted seafood one last time. We had the best Vongole clam pasta and fritto misto di mare(deep fried seafood). Lucca definitely made our taste buds happy!
