1. How it's fake
Here we'll discuss everything from competition shows that are decided by producers rather than the judges, to staged fights and conflicts that happen because a writer says so rather than crazy contestants.
2. Behind the scenes: Reality TV Working conditions
With no guild or union regulating most Reality TV is has some of the worst working conditions in America. Often requiring long hours, unpaid overtime and providing no benefits of any kind, employees live in fear of a system that can leave them unemployed for refusing to do unpaid, dangerous, or sometimes illegal work.
3. The dangers of Reality TV
Dozens of studies conducted by leading universities and organizations ranging from the Girl Scouts of America to the Parent's Television Council have shown that reality TV is actually dangerous for people. Reality TV viewing has been linked to everything from a corollary jump in plastic surgery to an increase in bullying by young reality TV viewers.
Reality TV as an industry is in drastic need of change. From the people who make it to the people who watch it and with your help we hope to start that change. The entertainment industry doesn't want this documentary made and it will ONLY be made with help from people like you.
