This film follows the story of fishermen who continue to work on a riverbank that is breaking apart. Their life reflects a reality that rarely reaches the outside world. The reduced fish population, the increasing use of harmful fishing practices, and the impact of changing water patterns reveal a crisis that is unfolding in silence.

‘जय हिंद प्रोजेक्ट’ द्वारा प्रायोजित ‘भारत’ प्रस्तुत करता है एक नई डॉक्यूमेंट्री, “फ़िशी वेव्स एंड फ़िशरमेन”

नदियाँ जीवन देती हैं, पर चुपचाप उसे वापस भी ले लेती हैं. देबोग्राम में मछुआरे हर दिन इसी सच्चाई के साथ जीते हैं. उनके पैरों के नीचे की ज़मीन लगातार कटती जा रही है, घर पानी में समा रहे हैं, माछ की पकड़ हर मौसम में घट रही है और आने वाला कल पहले से अधिक अनिश्चित लगता है।

पूरे गंगा क्षेत्र में हर साल लगभग छह हजार हेक्टेयर ज़मीन कटाव में खो जाती है, जिससे हज़ारों परिवार असुरक्षा और बेघर होने की स्थिति में पहुँच जाते हैं. जहाँ कभी पक्के गाँव हुआ करते थे, वहाँ आज ढहती मिट्टी और डगमगाती ज़मीन बची है. धीरे धीरे लोग अपनी ज़मीन, अपनी रोज़ी और अपनी सुरक्षित जिंदगी की आखिरी पकड़ भी खो रहे हैं।

यह फिल्म उन मछुआरों की कहानी है जो टूटते किनारे के बावजूद रोज़ अपनी नाव लेकर नदी पर उतरते हैं. उनकी ज़िंदगी एक ऐसी हकीकत दिखाती है जो अक्सर दुनिया तक पहुँच ही नहीं पाती. घटती माछ की आबादी, ज़हरीले तरीकों से की जा रही अवैध मछली पकड़, और बदले हुए जल चक्र एक ऐसी त्रासदी का संकेत देते हैं जो शोर नहीं करती, पर सब कुछ बदल देती है।

इनकी जद्दोजहद एक बड़े सवाल की ओर इशारा करती है. उस कीमत की ओर, जो उन लोगों को चुकानी पड़ती है जो उस नदी के सहारे जीते हैं जो अपने आसपास की ज़मीन पर ही राज करती है।
