Overture to HMS Pinafore on Piano (Gilbert and Sullivan)

Описание: This is somewhat of a random upload, I know, but I've had this project to record all the G&S overtures on the back burner for a while now, and I'd like to upload a new one every once in awhile to keep the project alive! Some of the recordings will be for piano duet, with my sister and me, but this overture is one that I love for solo piano.

The story is about a sailor who loves the captain's daughter, but they are unable to marry because of their vast difference in status. As with all Gilbert and Sullivan operas, some silly turn of events make it possible for the pair to live happily ever after in the end! This overture presents several of the main themes that appear throughout the show. I hope you enjoy!!
