The New Jersey State Police announces the release of their 2025 “Most Wanted” list of fugitives. The list, compiled by the New Jersey State Police – Fugitive Unit, contains thirteen (13) New Jersey’s “Most Wanted” violent fugitives. It is headlined by the most wanted fugitive, Joanne Chesimard, who is wanted for escaping from a New Jersey correctional institution in 1979 where she was serving a life sentence for the May 2, 1973, murder of Trooper Werner Foerster #2608. The remaining fugitives are wanted for a variety of crimes, including Murder, Sexual Assault of a Minor, Weapons Offenses, Escape, Human Trafficking, and Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. All of these fugitives are CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.
