This is an introduction to Old Norse literature as exemplified in the Saga of King Hrolf Kraki. It presumes familiarity with the second half (chapters 24-52 of Hrolf's Saga) available in a translation by Peter Tunstall at http://www.northvegr.org/sagas%20annd... It introduces the folk-tale of "The Bear's Son" and parallels between the character of Bodvar Bjarki and the Old English Beowulf.
