The IELTS speaking test is the same for Academic and General Training. It is a face-to-face conversation with the examiner which lasts for about 11 to 14 minutes.
Part 1 has general questions related to your life. In total 8 to 10 questions on topics related to are asked. The questions can be about your hometown, family, work and hobbies.
In the IELTS speaking part 2, you get a cue based question which is nothing but a monologue in which you’ll talk and the examiner will listen. You will get one minute to make notes and you will be asked to speak for 1 – 2 minutes.

In the IELTS speaking part 3 round, the examiner will ask you questions related to the topic your spoke about in part 2.
