The visit began in Chennai and Mumbai, where President Herminie met leaders across governance, healthcare, industry, and maritime sectors. In Chennai, discussions focused on strengthening Seychelles’ healthcare infrastructure through super-speciality medical outreach, digital health integration, affordable medicines, and dialysis expansion.

In Mumbai, talks centered on maritime trade, blue economy cooperation, and sustainable development, including meetings with India’s Ports Minister and participation in the India-Seychelles Business Roundtable.

Upon arrival in New Delhi, he was accorded a ceremonial welcome. He is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and discuss regional and international issues.

Seychelles is considered a key maritime neighbour and strategic partner in India’s Vision MAHASAGAR and engagement with the Global South.
