📡 About Rave FM:
Rave FM first hit the Nottingham airwaves in 1990 on 101.7 FM, broadcasting the freshest rave, hardcore, and breakbeat to the East Midlands massive. Operating from flats in Radford, Lenton, and other secret spots, the station became a weekend essential for ravers craving the warehouse vibe at home.

In 1992, the station’s owner rebranded it as Touch FM in an attempt to secure a legal broadcast licence. While the licence never came through, the spirit of Rave FM lived on — with occasional one‑off broadcasts under both the Rave FM and Touch FM names into the late ’90s.

Rave FM’s legacy is kept alive today through the Rave FM Facebook group, where old DJs, MCs, and Nottingham ravers still connect, share memories, and keep the oldskool spirit burning. If you were there, or just want to know more, it’s worth a look
