But knowing the fact that we are talking about a huge tech company based in California which has reportedly spent a hundred and seventy eight billion dollars on the automobile company to transform their idea into a real deal.
The Apple car is a confidential project that is named “Titan.” Its aim to build an end project that can replace the usual cars and bring a new era.
Several experts including engineers and designers are experimenting with new things to make a car that can have both luxuries feel to it and is equipped with the latest technology.
This project was expected to be endorsed by the company’s CEO, Tim Cook by 2014.
By 2015, Apple has hired almost five thousand employees for this mission specifically.
It is said that Apple has offered a job to many Tesla employees to have more reliable workers.
Talking about the design of this vehicle, it is believed that it looks like a mini-van. According to reports, it is going to be introduced in black and silver color first.
As the company has not publically shared any official features of the new project yet but in 2018, Tim Cook gave some information about the car in an interview. He said, "It would seem like that there will be a massive change in that industry and not just an evolutionary one. When I look at the automobile, I see that software is becoming an increasingly important part of the car of the future." But no official picture of the car is seen. In 2019, a rumor was spread that the apple car was seen for test driving on the roads of California.
Now you’ll be thinking that how can a mobile/ Tech Company achieve to build a high end luxurious car?
In 2017, apple registered twenty seven self-driving vehicles. The company said that they cannot achieve the goal alone so they collaborated with companies such as Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, BYD, McLaren Automotive, and Volkswagen. However, only Volkswagen accepted for partnership with apple and the others denied it.
The deal was that Volkswagen will build the structure and shadow of the van and apple will help with autonomous software.
It is said that with good things there come hurdles. Unfortunately, a company tried to steal the idea of the project as one of the top employees leaked the information about the apple car before the company could know about him. In response, all apple employees had to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Now thinking about when we can see the evolved vehicle on roads? And what car lovers can expect from this evolved vehicle?
It is said that the company has planned to launch the vehicle in 2023 or 2025.
