Grizzly bear vs Liger - who wins in a fight? Watch to the end to find out :)

In this video, we put the liger, a combination of a male lion and a female tiger, against a grizzly bear. We discuss a theoretical fight scenario between these animals.

Grizzly bear stats:
Grizzlies have a résumé that reads like a list of reasons you should never go hiking without insurance. They’ve been caught flipping 700-pound dumpsters like they’re beach balls, dragging buffalo carcasses through the snow, shrugging off shotgun blasts, and one juvenile even walked away after being hit by a car doing 40 mph. Yeah, there’s a reason their scientific name literally translates to the horrible brown bear. A grizzly’s body is basically a demolition machine wrapped in fur. They are very wide, compact animals with a broad chest, and have a robust, short spine built like a steel beam. Basically, a very stable animal that deserves a spot in a horror film.

But okay, just how large are Grizzly bears? Well, it depends on which grizzlies you’re talking about. The most common type, interior grizzlies, average around 600 lbs for fully grown males. But the really big ones, ya know, the bears with that Thanos aura, are the coastal brown bears of Alaska that weigh in about 860 lbs on average. That actually places them in the liger’s weight class.

So what happens when you take a lion and tiger and mix them? You get a liger - basically the world’s most overqualified zoo attraction. It’s the offspring of a male lion and a female tiger, not the other way around. Order matters here because female tigers don’t have the growth-limiting gene that female lions do, while male lions pass on growth-promoting genes like a dad who won’t stop feeding his kid protein shakes. The result? A frankenstein cat that looks like it could bench press a safari jeep.
Now, strength-wise, there aren’t many official feats because ligers are rare and live in captivity. But if tigers can drag buffalo carcasses and lions can win tug-of-war against crocodiles,I think it’s safe to say the liger would be able to, at the bare minimum, match their parent's feats, but realistically, they are a lot stronger, we just don’t really have a metric to measure.

But, now for size. Male ligers usually weigh between 700–900 lbs, with most sources saying they average around 800 lbs. And yes, I’m well aware of the world record holders like Hercules, who weighed in at 922 lbs, but that’s like bringing Shaq into your average height chart. And if we start pulling out record holders for the grizzly bear, it would become one-sided pretty fast. Anyways, the Liger would have about 200 lbs on the interior grizzly bear here, so make your judgements now with that, because the coastal brown bears and ligers would be in the same 800-ish weight class, with a tiny edge going to the bear.
