Forced amalgamations are already ruled out, but a long-running local government review has released its report, suggesting which Tasmanian councils open to mergers should combine.
The recommendations include combining Kentish and Latrobe councils; Break O'Day, Glamorgan Spring Bay and Sorell; and Kingborough with Huon Valley.
The proposed reforms and voluntary amalgamations are open to public feedback until the end of February next year.
