Hagnäs - Hunajaa NightLIVE (full moon, one shot)

Описание: When Thomas Künzel asked me to be a part of his amazing series Night Live in 2019, he had no clue it would take 3 years until we published the results. Let me explain. He's been very patient with me and deserves some recognition for that.

I wanted to make something sooooo special out of it and had all these ideas bursting out of me for a location that would make the shot extra special. First I remembered from the time I had been living in Charlottenburg, how the Straße des 17. Juli, one of the busiest streets would frequently be entirely blocked from traffic. And as a street performer I wanted to make a statement of "the street is mine! miiine! and bringing my extremely quiet and minimalistic music there. I like that kind of a contrast.

So we started looking for a date when the street would be blocked but.. It didn't really go as planned. There was some parade, must have been CSD and it was just .. a very loud party. There was not a chance to record on that street in the middle of a rave. So we did a shot next to the river instead. But the rave sounds were leaking too much into the recording and we ended up trashing it.

I'll make that idea happen on another occasion.. HA!

In the meantime I came up with sometgin even better!! In 2020 we teamed up again and this time I had written a new song Hunajaa and knew I'd HAVE TO record that one!!

Hunajaa means "Some Honey" in Finnish and it's about the sweetest kiss in a hot summer night. You can check out the lyrics and translation on my bandcamp and you'll understand https://hagnas.bandcamp.com/releases

I couldn't think of a better song to record for this series, also because I've loved this song since I wrote it and it just keeps on growing.

So I went hunting for locations along the Spree in the middle of the night with a vague idea of playing it in the moonlight, giving some Moon River vibes. But I didn't just want the moon, I wanted there the reflection of the moon on the water. Later I did my research on the moon map to see when it would be in the right position and that it would be full, weather reports and we just went for it.

This was by far the best shot where the moon is coming through the clouds and later the moon was entirely clear the magic kind of faded.
