This is a pantomime carved in stone! A gigantic performance about the endless struggle of Good and Evil, Chaos and Harmony - about the meaning of Life, which, unfortunately or fortunately, we cannot understand.
I am the director. In order for the play "Giants against the Gods" to continue, I need to return the heroes of their faces, bodies, breathe life. Some figures were completely unlucky: time erased them, like an eraser erases a pencil. And no one even knows what they looked like!
I will take those who survived; who broke into Today through wars, revolutions and cataclysms: Athena-Pallada of the genius Phidias; Zeus, raised from the bottom of the sea; Apollo-Belvedere of the Vatican ...
All of them will meet on the Frieze of Altar from Pergamum, coming together from different eras, styles and schools.
Looking at the 2000-year-old altar, I ask myself: was it then, the beginning of the beginning, that the Good won? And why, according to legend, was the participation of mortals necessary for the victory of the Gods? So who are we, people?
My restoration is a return to the beginning of the beginnings, an invitation to a discussion.
