Star Wars under Disney, especially in recent shows like Ahsoka and The Mandalorian, has started to feel stale, like there aren't many new ideas to explore in the galaxy far far away. In this video I try my best to explain how we might have gotten here, how the worldbuilding of the Force, the Jedi, and the Empire makes it difficult to move beyond those concepts, and how upcoming projects like The Acolyte and James Mangold's film might provide a step in the right direction.
