TOMATO KI SURKI. In this video we will go through step by step instructions on how to make Tomato ki Surki.

Tomato surki is a very traditional bohra style Tomato broth soup prepared and served as sides with kichri.

It is very simple to make but very tasty and enhances the taste of the main meals. Heat oil in a pan and heat, add cumin seeds and fry until they splutter but do not burn them. Add chopped tomatoes and add spices and hara masala. Let it cook until the tomatoes are mushy and well cooked. Finally add the channay ka aata and mix. Add the water and cook. Slightly blend the surki so the tomatoes get well blended. Finally add the spring onions. Your delicious tomato surki is ready to be served.

• 500 grams tomatoes
• 1 liter water
• 1 tsp red chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp coriander powder
• Salt
• 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
• Green onion
• 1 1/2 t tsp green masala
• 3 tbsp. gram flour
