After the German East Frisian Islands, our journey to the Mediterranean takes us into Groningen — and straight into our first Dutch canal challenge: narrow waterways, tight manoeuvres and one bridge after another.

Some bridges open. Some don’t. And our historic sailing tjalk suddenly feels very big.

This is our first real bridge marathon in the Netherlands.
