Nearly 80000 families believed they were buying a small piece of land to build a home for their children. Many invested their life savings. Many paid installments for years and waited for decades

More than 22,000 allotted plots and over 1,500 acres of government land have been illegally occupied. Most sectors of Taiser Town have been taken over by powerful groups who openly market and sell these stolen plots without any fear of the law. Many plots have been transferred to fake owners through forged documents.

This investigative report by Nukta’s special correspondent, Akhtiar Khokhar, shows how the dream of owning a home turned into a nightmare for thousands of families.
