Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week: Jasmin Brown

Описание: This week's Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is junior tennis player Jasmin Brown. This season, Jasmin was the top singles player for a Cedar Ridge team that reached the 5A State Playoffs. She led the team in singles victories this year as the Red Wolves finished with a 10-9 record behind head coach Al Caltabiano. She started the season with a win over Southern Alamance 6-0, 6-1 over Madelyn Corbett. She defeated Nathalia Collazos of Northwood on August 27 6-0, 6-0. In her final match of the year, Brown defeated Hensley Gasaway of Western Alamance 6-4, 6-3. Brown finished the season strong with four consecutive wins to wrap up the year. She defeated Kilson Lavrack of South Granville 8-2 on October6. In the 5A State Playoffs, Brown defeated Yareti Gabinolopez 6-0, 6-2 Brown was also a member of Cedar Ridge's top doubles team, as well. She teamed with Madeline Galindo-Woodring in wins over Northwood and Southern Alamance. This season, Cedar Ridge was forced to travel almost the entire season because their home court was under construction. Brown has played tennis for three years after she finished eighth grade. She continues to play throughout the year at Hollow Rock Racquet and Swim Club right at the Durham-Orange County line. Brown will focus on her senior year next year.
